Died in WW2 but not on the memorial

There are 73 names on the Bearsden War Memorial for the Second World War.  The assumption is that the list of 73 came about as a result of nomination by a family member (and presumably meeting a set of criteria).  Some people may not have been nominated and others may (possibly) not have been included.  As a result, the memorial is not a definitive list of those from Bearsden who died (nor was it intended to be).

Using the CWGC register with a simple search for records with the word “Bearsden” included identifies an additional 29 people who died up to the end of the Second World War and a further four who died after the war was completed but are not on the memorial.

I did not want the 80th anniversary of VE Day to pass with these men still in the background.  My compromise is to at least list their names here; I’m planning profiles of them in future.  If anyone has information about any of these men, please contact me.
