This is from the Milngavie and Bearsden Herald of 1936 (dated 22nd February but reporting on the meeting of the New Kilpatrick District Council of 13th January):

The Glasgow-Caithness Benevolent Society was established in 1836 (hence the centenary) as a way people moving from Caithness to Glasgow could stay in touch and also to send support home to Caithness. It does not seem to have been very active after 1936. I have found an online archive record of some of their office bearers but there are numerous Sinclairs so I cannot tell which Sinclair Mr Russell had in mind (he may have intended it as a tribute to the ‘clan’).
Morven is, of course, a particularly beautiful mountain:
